Happy National Family Caregiver Month

One of the most rewarding benefits of owning a senior care business is providing respite and support to our client’s family caregivers.  A caregiver’s life revolves around the loved one they are advocating for; they are often alone and unsure of how to navigate the path of their caregiving journey.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s 2020 Alzheimer’s disease facts and figures report states that in 2019, more than 16 million family members and other unpaid caregivers provided an estimated 18.6 billion hours of care to people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.  This care is valued at nearly $244 billion, but its costs extend to family caregivers with increased risk for emotional distress and negative mental and physical health outcomes.
