Happy National Family Caregiver Month

Smiling friends

One of the most rewarding benefits of owning a senior care business is providing respite and support to our client’s family caregivers.  A caregiver’s life revolves around the loved one they are advocating for; they are often alone and unsure of how to navigate the path of their caregiving journey.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s 2020 Alzheimer’s disease facts and figures report states that in 2019, more than 16 million family members and other unpaid caregivers provided an estimated 18.6 billion hours of care to people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.  This care is valued at nearly $244 billion, but its costs extend to family caregivers with increased risk for emotional distress and negative mental and physical health outcomes.

Elder-Well® is committed to sharing the burden of care with the family caregiver, providing not only a safe, supportive and purposeful day of care and activities to an individual with a memory impairment, but just as important, we provide their careers with support, community resources, and a hand to hold on the journey.

Thank you to all the caregivers that devote their love and life to one who needs their care and protection.
