Social connection is our primary focus at Elder-Well® Santa Monica. Guests are welcomed into a relaxed, light-filled setting that offers a meaningful alternative to spending the day at home alone. Shared conversation, small group activities, and time spent together create natural opportunities for connection. The bright, coastal feel of the surroundings adds an easy, comfortable backdrop to the day.
Our program welcomes older adults who benefit from a supportive daytime environment, social connection, and ways to stay active and engaged. We also serve families and care partners, offering peace of mind during the workday or a much-needed break. Many of the people we welcome are navigating memory changes or the natural shifts that come with aging, and our team meets each guest where they are.
Families choose Elder-Well® Santa Monica for a consistent, personalized approach that puts the individual first. We get to know each guest’s story, including the routines they love, the relationships that matter to them, the history they carry, and the cultural and personal values that shape who they are. Our location near major medical centers also makes it a practical choice for families coordinating appointments and care across the Westside.
Guests are invited to take part in a wide range of activities, from art, music, and crafts to pet and nature therapy, gardening, and cooking. Word games, sensory activities, sharing memories and stories, and themed celebrations bring even more variety to the week. Some parts of the day are planned, and other moments are open to follow whatever feels right.
Throughout the year, seasonal moments and special gatherings bring extra opportunities for connection. Some reflect holidays or shared traditions in simple, meaningful ways, and others draw inspiration from the local arts, music, and wellness community that defines Santa Monica.
We stay connected to the Santa Monica community and remain familiar with the local resources that support older adults and their families. That includes local memory cafés and a strong network of cultural spaces across the Westside.
There’s no substitute for seeing the space in person. We invite you to visit, meet our team, and spend a little time getting to know the people and the environment that make Elder-Well® Santa Monica feel like a second home.
There are two main types of adult day programs: medical and social. Medical model programs are clinically oriented, with a focus on health monitoring and treatment-related care. Elder-Well® Santa Monica follows the social model, which centers on connection, engagement, and the everyday moments that bring joy and purpose. Each day is built around what each guest enjoys and what feels familiar to them, creating a welcoming environment that feels less like a program and more like a place to belong.
Yes. Our team offers attentive, person-centered support within a calm and welcoming environment. The space is thoughtfully designed to encourage familiarity, gentle engagement, and reassurance for those experiencing memory changes, with a steady daily flow that helps ease stress for both guests and their families.
Every family’s situation is different, so program costs are based on the days and hours that work best for your loved one. We’re happy to share current rates and talk through any funding options that may help offset costs, including VA benefits and long-term care insurance (ITCI).
While we don’t provide transportation directly, we’re happy to point families toward trusted local options that many of our guests use, including the City of Santa Monica’s MODE program for seniors and adults with disabilities.
There’s no need to worry about bringing anything for the day. We take care of all the activity materials and everything the day requires. That said, a familiar item from home, such as a favorite photo or a meaningful keepsake, can be soothing. Layers are helpful too, since Santa Monica’s coastal weather can shift throughout the day.
